Alber Elbaz Tribute Show To Be Turned Into Exhibition

The late, great, Alber Elbaz’s tribute show which took place at the last Paris Fashion Week will now be turned into an exhibition to honour the designer.

The Palais Galliera fashion museum in Paris will play host to the exhibition, which will be open to the public from 5 March to 10 July.

“The Palais Galliera celebrates Alber Elbaz, one of its most dear collaborators,” the cultural institution’s director Miren Arzalluz said in a statement.

“By re-enacting this moving and unprecedented tribute by the fashion industry, we wish to honour his life and legacy and invite our visitors to engage in the designer’s joyful vision of fashion,” they added.

Elbaz had an illustrious career in fashion, being hailed as responsible for the revival of Lanvin while serving as creative director of the French fashion house from 2001 until 2015. He also served stints at other fashion houses including Guy Laroche and Yves Saint Laurent.

Elbaz then started his own label, AZ Factory in 2019, but unfortunately passed away from COVID-19, three months before the premier of his womenswear collection.
