Baz Luhrmann has shared a teaser trailer for upcoming Elvis biopic.
The filmmaker let fans know on Monday that he is “taking care of business” as he posts teaser clip and release date for the film.
The 21-second clip features Austin Butler as the iconic musician and includes shots of Butler from behind as a young Elvis Presley. Austin can also be seen walking backstage in Elvis‘s recognisable performance wear.
Luhrmann‘s video ends with the letters TCB and the date June 24, 2022.
PEOPLE report that the film’s release date has been postponed multiple times due to the Covid-19 related issues, “including star Tom Hanks, who plays Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker, contracting the virus last year.”
Olivia DeJonge is set to star as Priscilla Presley.
According to Warner Bros, it will “delve into their complex dynamic spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and the loss of innocence in America.”
Butler previously told Entertainment Tonight that he is “honoured” to have been chosen by Baz to play the musician.
“I am just profoundly honoured that Baz has invited me on this journey with him,” the actor said. “It’s an extraordinary privilege.”
