The brother of Chadwick Boseman says that the late actor would have wanted his Black Panther role recast.
According to TMZ, Derrick Boseman shared his brother’s belief that the role of T’Challa was bigger than himself and that it was important to see the character live on.
Derrick also stated that by not recasting the part, Marvel was inadvertently depriving black youth of a role model.
His brother’s words come amid an ongoing fan campaign to recast T’Challa due to perceived on-set drama with Letitia Wright.
The 28-year-old actress has been repeatedly accused of spreading anti-vaccination views and is currently on hiatus from filming due to injury.
Production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will resume in January 2022.
