Elon Musk has sold five billion of his Tesla shares following the result of his Twitter poll on Saturday (November 6).
The poll asked his 63.3 million followers if he should sell ten percent of his stake in Tesla.
Musk pledged to abide by the result, no matter the outcome.

According to filings obtained by The Guardian, the recent Tesla sale amounts to three percent of Musk’s shares.
He reportedly sold an additional $1.1 billion worth of shares, as part of an options arrangement to acquire nearly 2.2 million shares.
Musk’s Twitter poll came in response to proposals by US Democrats, aiming to remove tax loopholes for the wealthiest Americans.
