Former America’s Got Talent contestant Glennis Grace has been arrested in the Netherlands.
TMZ reports that the arrest came in relation to a violent altercation that occurred over the weekend at a supermarket.
The incident reportedly began after Grace’s 15-year-old son had an interaction with staff at the supermarket earlier in the day. After he left the store, he later returned in the company of his mother and an identified man.
Though details remain sparse, a violent altercation allegedly broke out leaving several people injured.
Police were called and Grace, her son, and the unidentified man were subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault. All three have since been released from custody.
Responding to the news, Grace’s lawyer said that the ongoing investigation would prove she had not committed any criminal offences.
Grace, who is Dutch, rose to the finals in the 13th season of America’s Got Talent. In 2005, she also represented the Netherlands in the 50th Eurovision Song Contest.
