Jake Gyllenhaal Reportedly Starring In MGM’s ‘Road House’ Remake

Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly in final talks to star in MGM’s Road House.

According to Deadline, Doug Liman is also in talks to direct. The script was penned by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry, with re-writes currently underway.

The new film, which is allegedly considered a high priority for the studio, will be a remake of its 1989 original, which follows a bouncer hired to tame the wildest bar, The Double Deuce.

Gyllenhaal is currently working on the production of Guy Ritchie’s The Interpreter. He became well known for starring in the likes of October Sky, Donnie Darko and The Day After Tomorrow.

His performance in Brokeback Mountain alongside Heath Ledger earned him a BAFTA Award and an Academy Award nomination.
