Acclaimed filmmaker James Gunn has announced his engagement to actress Jennifer Holland.
The couple, who has been together since 2015, met through Smallville actor Michael Rosenbaum after he offered to introduce them.
Sharing the news on social media, Gunn posted an image of Holland supping a cup of coffee with an impressive diamond ring on her left ring finger. He captioned the image simply: “😏❤️”
Posting a picture of herself and Gunn in front of a rainbow, Holland wrote on her own social media: “Happiness. 🌈 ⛅️ ❤️”
Friends and colleagues from the couple’s previous projects were quick to offer their congratulations, with stars like David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Karen Gillan, Viola Davis, and Will Wheaton among those celebrating the news.
Holland has worked with her partner of seven years on two of his recent DC projects, playing Emilia Harcourt in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.
Gunn is currently working on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, as well as a live-action film centring on Wile E. Coyote.
