Britney Spears’ father Jamie has described the conservatorship ruling, which suspends his control over his daughter affairs, as a “loss for Britney”.
On Wednesday, September 28, an LA Superior Court judge ruled to suspend Jamie’s control as conservator over his daughters estate.
Although Jamie had agreed to step down as conservator in early September, he has now said that the ruling was the wrong decision.
“Mr. Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally. For 13 years, he has tried to do what is in her best interests, whether as a conservator or her father,” a statement released by Jamie’s attorney Vivian Thoreen read.
“These facts make the outcome of yesterday’s hearing all the more disappointing, and frankly, a loss for Britney,” she added.
Thoreen, stated that Jamie was particularly disappointed with the courts decision to appoint a “stranger” as conservator in his place instead of ending the conservatorship.
“Respectfully, the court was wrong to suspend Mr. Spears, put a stranger in his place to manage Britney’s estate, and extend the very conservatorship that Britney begged the court to terminate earlier this summer,” she said.
