Football sensation Marcus Rashford MBE has featured in supermarket Aldi’s Christmas advert a day on from receiving his MBE.
The ad is a play on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and features a character named Marcus Radishford.

“Look, there’s Marcus Radishford! He’s always helping children,” says the Spirit of Christmas.
“Merry Christmas, Kevin!” responds the radish; voiced by the Manchester United forward.
The 24-year-old is ‘delighted’ to lend his support to the Aldi campaign.
Well done @AldiUK. This is much bigger than a Christmas ad 👏🏾 might not be Oscar-worthy but glad I could play my part 😆 https://t.co/v288G1ET8r

“As a family, we relied on the local food bank to get our Christmas dinner.
To this day, I remember queuing outside that building with mum; mum feeling embarrassed that she might be recognised,” said Rashford.
“For many children in situations like mine growing up, there is very little expectation around this time of year; add the impact of the pandemic and the very least they deserve is a Christmas dinner.”
