Matthew McConaughey Against Vaccine Mandate For Kids

Matthew McConaughey has spoken out against the vaccine mandate for children.

During The New York Times virtual DealBook summit, the actor shared that he opposes mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for young children.

He notes that he is not against vaccinations, as he and his wife are fully vaccinated, but “couldn’t mandate having to vaccinate the younger kids” without additional information.

He and his wife “chose” to get the shot, rather than being told to and he disagrees with conspiracy theories surrounding the vaccination.

“Do I think that there’s any kind of scam or conspiracy theory? Hell no,” McConaughey said. “We all got to get off that narrative. There’s not a conspiracy theory on the vaccines.”

Matthew shared that he wants to wait to find out more about the safety of the vaccines for young children before getting his own children vaccinated.

“Right now, I’m not vaccinating mine, I’ll tell you that.”

The 52-year-old also discussed Texas’ “unethical” and “inhumane” six-week abortion ban. He calls it “overly aggressive” and that is restricts “sensible choice.”

“I believe in this: more responsibility, more personal responsibility to make the right choices. And we got to pick context with each situation, and each person’s situation, each woman’s situation.”
