Actor Rockmond Dunbar is suing Disney and 20th Century Fox for discrimination over his refusal to get the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
According to TMZ, Dunbar, who was ousted from 9-1-1 over his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine, is accusing the studios of discriminating against him based on his race and religion.
The outlet report that Dunbar claims he was the only black male lead actor on the TV show and his dismissal severely damaged his career.
He also reportedly filed paperwork seeking both a religious and medical exemption from the vaccine, and was assured by producers that he would remain on the show and his schedule adjusted to accommodate him being unvaccinated.
However, instead Dunbar claims he was barred from the set and told his characters storyline would show him leaving temporarily, keeping open the possibility for him to return down the road.
Dunbar says that return never happened and he was fired by Fox and that the company has refused to pay him hundreds of thousand of dollars that he’s still owed.
