Taylor Swift Breaks AMAs Record

Taylor Swift has taken over the charts after the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), and she also cleaned up at the AMAs, winning two coveted awards.

Taylor won Best Pop Album for her album evermore, and Favourite Female Pop Artist.

“Thank you so much to the fans, this is such an amazing honor. The fact that you would do this for evermore, I’ve always been so proud of this album,” Taylor said.

“I’ve always looked at evermore as sort of Folklore‘s adventurous, fun younger sister. So, thank you so much for doing this.”

Taylor went on to thank her fans for the incredible success of Red (Taylor’s Version) a week after it’s release.

“Also, I just wanted to say to the fans, thank you for all the amazing support that you have thrown my way with Red (my version),” she said. “It’s been so much fun. I’m so lucky to be in your life and to get to have you in mine. Have a great night. Love you guys.”

With her two wins on Sunday night, Taylor extended her record as the AMA’s most-awarded artist ever, with 34 wins over the years.

That’s not the only records Taylor has recently broken, according to VarietySpotify reps say that Swift broke two records for the service on Friday, the day that ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ came out.”

One is the record for the most-streamed album in a day by a female in Spotify history. Red (Taylor’s Version) accomplished that by picking up over 90.8 million streams on day one.

The previous record holder was also Taylor, with Folklore.
