The Scene John Krasinski Refused To Film In ‘The Office’

Even eight years after the finale of The Office, Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley remain one of the most popular couples on TV.

The ‘will they, won’t they’ when Jim leaves for a different branch, to their secret wedding on the day of the ceremony. They captured hearts of viewers.

But writers had an episode up their sleeves that could have ruined the entire thing.

In Brian Baumgartner’s (Kevin Malone) tell-all book about the hit sitcom, John Krasinski reveals that his character, Jim, almost cheated on Pam (Jenna Fischer).

In the episode After Hours, when Jim and Cathy are in Florida they had planned for them to kiss.

Krasinksi immediately shut the idea down and discussed it with the show’s creator Greg Daniels.

“That’s the only time I remember putting my foot down… I remember saying things that I never thought I’d say before, like, ‘I’m not going to shoot it,’” Krasinksi told Baumgartner.

“There is a threshold with which you can push our audience. They are so dedicated. We have shown such great respect to them.”

“But there’s a moment where if you push them too far, they’ll never come back. And I think that if you show Jim cheating, they’ll never come back.”

While Jim and Pam do find themselves on the brink of their marriage breaking down, as Krasinksi predicted, they were able to pull it back and become one of the most beloved TV couples.
