Week 9 of fantasy football is here, and there are several solid running back sleepers this week. From new faces to injury fill-ins, here are a few sleepers.
It’s Week 9 of the NFL season. It’s the first week post-deadline, and there are several teams on bye. This means that you could be missing a few key pieces this week. There are quite a few sleeper running back options that should be able to provide decent weeks this week. Let’s get into it.
Best running back sleepers for fantasy football Week 9
10. Nyheim Hines, Buffalo Bills
After having his best game of the season in Week 8, Nyheim Hines will play his next game on a new team. After he was traded to the Buffalo Bills, Hines joins a potent offense that is lacking any sort of passing game involvement from their running backs. Enter Hines, who excels in that role annually for Indianapolis.
While Hines likely won’t take on a huge role in his first week with the Bills, he may be worth a speculative flier in PPR leagues. Especially in what may be a tough divisional game against the Jets, Hines may be used in special passing down packages, making him a borderline start for PPR leagues.
9. Dontrell Hilliard, Tennessee Titans
Speaking of pass catching backs, Dontrell Hilliard has been the closest thing to that for the Tennessee Titans behind the absolute beast that is Derrick Henry. It’s hard to find any relevant fantasy production from Henry’s backup, but Hilliard has seen somewhat productive days — most recently in Week 8 as he ran for 83 yards against the Texans.
Hilliard has had at least three receptions in three of the six games he’s played in, and is the clear number two in Tennessee behind Hassan Haskins. If there’s ever a week that Tennessee will need help in the passing game from their backfield, it’s this week against Kansas City. He’s a very deep PPR sleeper and a cheap DFS dart throw.
