Either Georgia or Tennessee will be improving to 9-0 on the season after a big win on Saturday.
No. 3 Georgia will host No. 1 Tennessee in what will be the biggest college game of the season.
The Dawgs and Vols are two of the last six undefeated teams in college football. Given that they play in the same division, one of them is going down this weekend Between the Hedges. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Athens for what will be the biggest game in Sanford Stadium history. It is the first home game since the passing of the iconic former Georgia head coach Vince Dooley.
In a game that will be a must-see TV event, here are three bold predictions to look forward to.
Bold predictions for Tennessee at Georgia: 3. The raucous home crowd is absolutely going to be a huge factor in this one
There is really no way around it. Sanford Stadium will be as loud as it ever has been. While Georgia has played in a bunch of big games in its history, most have come either on the road or in neutral-site affairs. With the new No. 1 coming to town, the home crowd of the new No. 3 will be in rare form. It has been a very long time since Georgia had a game Between the Hedges of this caliber.
I’m not saying it will be one false start after another like it was for the Hogs when Arkansas came to Athens last year, but no doubt about it, Tennessee is walking into a hostile environment. The combination of it being No. 1 vs. No. 3, what transpired in the first playoff rankings, GameDay being in town, this being a rivalry game and the first since Coach Dooley passed, it will be so loud.
The last thing Tennessee needs is for the crowd to get into it if the Vols hope to pull off the upset.
