The Houston Astros came from behind in Game 4 and overtook the New York Yankees to complete the sweep and move on to the World Series.

It was fitting that the ALCS ended with New York Yankees star Aaron Judge running hopelessly down the first-base line while Houston Astros closer Ryan Pressly corraled a lazy ground-ball and tossed it smoothly to first.

That was indicative of everything New York faced in the series, which ended on Sunday night at Yankee Stadium as the Astros clinched the sweep over the Bronx Bombers and punched their ticket to a second consecutive World Series.

With the way Judge performed in the regular season, setting the new AL home run record with 62, and the potency of the Yankees, many people thought they could topple the 2017 World Series champions that finished the regular season with the best record in the American League. That was far from the case, however.

With a nonexistent offense, injuries, and shaky pitching performances in key spots, the Astros stayed perfect in the 2022 MLB postseason as they came back in Game 4 from a 5-4 hole by taking advantage of mistakes and putting the ball in play. Now with the 6-5 victory, it’s time to ready for Houston vs Philadelphia in the Fall Classic.

But before we get to that World Series, social media had plenty to say about the Astros’ ALCS victory and, perhaps more so, the Yankees falling on their faces.

Before the lockout, the Phillies and Astros were supposed to open the season against one another. Instead, that series became their last of the regular season, and now they’re going to face off in the World Series. Absolutely wild.

Astros/Phillies is gonna be a wise samurai with a katana vs. a crazed lunatic with a machete.

The Astros have won four of six AL pennants, are 7-0 in the playoffs, and the story will be about the Yankees “blowing it” when they never stood a chance to begin with.

Never doubt social media when it comes to taking advantage in an opportunity such as this one.

Many fans are certainly less than thrilled about the Astros being in the World Series because of the organization’s much-publicized and much-maligned cheating scandal involved in their 2017 title chase. But then again, there are perhaps just as many fans who are more than happy to see New York out of the playoffs.

Regardless, we should be in store for a phenomenal World Series between two clubs playing elite baseball when it matters most.
