Tom Brady is now two games below .500 for the first time in his career after the Bucs lost to the Ravens on Thursday night and the trolls were quick to act.

Trailing by 11 points late in the fourth quarter, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady spiked the ball into the ground as he turned away from his offensive line after the whistle blew a play dead on a false start on fourth-and-goal. And that pretty much summed up the night for the Bucs and their all-world quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar Jackson had a strong night overall as he finished with 238 passing yards and two scores to go along with 43 rushing yards. Between that and a defensive effort that held Brady and the Tampa offense to just two end zone trips, they were able to recover a late onside kick and pick up a crucial road win, 27-22.

But as the Ravens moved to 5-3 on the season, they were seemingly an afterthought as the continued struggles of Brady and the Bucs were at the forefront of the conversation.

With the loss, Brady has now lost three consecutive games for only the second time in his career and the first time since 2002. Moreover, he’s now two games below .500 for the first time in his illustrious time in the NFL and is off to the worst start ever.

Naturally, NFL Twitter was quick to troll him and the Bucs, sprinkling in a little praise for the Ravens as well.

Me in March: “Hell yes, omg Brady is back! All hope is restored. Can’t believe the Bucs are gonna go on another Super Bowl run!!”

Lamar Jackson beats Tom Brady in Tampa. Make all the excuses you want. Tom looks old, skinny, and disconnected from his head coach. See ya soon @FS1

Tom Brady might win a QB beauty pageant, but Tua Tagovailoa is the better Quarterback, period.🧾🧾🧾#FinsUp

Watched Tom Brady play A LOT of football games.

Don’t know if I’ve ever seen him look this defeated.

If there’s anything good to look forward to with the Bucs, their 3-5 record doesn’t preclude them from being the playoff race. In fact, they could very well win the division given how low the NFC South has fallen.

But all credit to the Ravens for a huge win in primetime and to keep control of the AFC North in their own right. The story will be about the demise of Tom Brady and the Bucs, and that makes sense, but Baltimore seems to be finding its groove, even without its two best pass-catchers on the field by the end of the game.
