TL;DR

All the Samsung Galaxy S22 phones can now download the Samsung Expert RAW app from the Galaxy Store.
It offers high-end photo editing features for power users.
The app will be released for some other Galaxy phones in the coming weeks and months.

One of the coolest apps made for high-end Samsung phones is finally launching for all the handsets in the new Galaxy S22 series. Yes, we are talking about the Samsung Expert RAW app, the power user camera app that first launched in beta form in late 2021 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Tizenhelp was the first to report that Expert RAW is now available in a stable release for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra. It supports all the camera sensors for all of those phones, and allows users to, among other things, take multi-frame-based 16-bit RAW images from those cameras. We have independently confirmed the app is available to download for those new phones in the Galaxy Store.

The app also includes tons of other features for pro and/or enthusiast photographers. They include HDR functionality, lossless JPEG support, pro mode controls (e.g. ISO, shutter speed, exposure, manual focus, and histogram), and a way to export RAW profiles to Adobe’s Lightroom.

The Expert RAW app will become available for a number of older phones as well. This includes the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in April and the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 before the end of 2022.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a throwback to the days of the Galaxy Note.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra looks like a Galaxy Note phone. It has an S Pen just like a Note, a boxy shape just like a Note, and…well, you get the picture. It is by far the top dog in the Galaxy S22 lineup with the best display, biggest battery, best cameras, and most options for RAM and storage counts.
