ECONOMY flights are famously uncomfortable, and the thought of taking a long-haul journey can fill passengers with dread.
But a frequent flyer has revealed the best seat to book in economy for a long flight.

Phyllis Stoller, president of The Women’s Travel Group, frequently flies long distances and she has found that one seat is better than the rest.
It’s all about how close your seat is to the bathroom.
She told USA Today Travel: “I try to book an aisle seat about five rows from the bathroom.
“That way, you can grab the toilets when they have been empty for a few minutes.”
By being sat close to the bathroom you can keep an eye on the queue and stay relaxing in your chair if there’s a long line.
But when the queue goes down, you can be the first to jump up, and because you’re sat so close, it’s unlikely someone else will get in front of you.
Additionally, you’re sat far enough away that when there is a queue, other passengers won’t be standing right next to you while they wait in line.
Passengers have come up with a series of creative ways to make economy flights more comfortable.
A woman went to extreme lengths for comfort on a plane and even the flight attendant was gobsmacked.
Tiktok user Amber packed a fold-out footstool in her hand luggage, took it through airport security and then whipped it out on her flight so she could have something to prop her feet on during the journey.
Her boyfriend Conor shared a video of her which has gone viral due to the reaction from the flight attendant in the background.
A traveller also recently revealed a hand luggage trick that gives you more legroom on a flight.
But that wasn’t an issue for one Brit who was the only person on a flight to the US.
Kai Forsyth was the sole passenger on an eight-hour flight, where he made himself a bed across the empty seats.
He said: “It was eight hours so I set up a bed. Literally the comfiest I’ve been on a plane.”
