The Krewe of Romany learned the theme for its next Mardi Gras ball during its annual business meeting March 23 at Jubans Restaurant.
The theme will remain a secret to the public until ball night on Jan. 11, 2025.
The krewe also closed out 2024 Ball Captain Kimberley LaCour Mitchell’s ball year, presented the treasurer’s report and began planning for 2025.
Heather Knost St. Germain is the 2025 ball captain.
Queen Romany LXXV Mary-Hannah Kathryn Varnado and King Romany LXXV Brant Bennett Richard were introduced to the krewe. Varnado is the daughter of krewe member and 2013 Ball Captain Amy and Daryl Varnado. Richard is the husband of krewe member and 2014 Ball Captain Toni Richard.
In addition to St. Germain, the 2024-2025 board members also include President Ashley Fabre, Vice President Collette Lambert, Treasurer Chelsea LeMieux, Secretary Carla Brown, Member-at-large 1 Adrienne Vaughn, Member-at-large 2 Sarah Grace Brooks, Special Advisor Terrie Cavalier, and 2024 Ball Captain Kim Mitchell.
Elected to the nominating committee were 2020 Ball Captain Brandi AlJariri, 2019 Ball Captain Brenda Torrence and Katy Harris, with Donna Lerma and Ashley Cooper remaining on the committee. The krewe also elected Lesley Torrence to the screening committee, with Genie Powers and Cheryl Allain continuing on that committee.
