Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer Won’t Face Charges Following Assault Allegations

LA Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer will not face charges after being accused of assault.

Last June, a woman accused Bauer of assaulting her during sex.

The 31-year-old was placed on paid leave by Major League Baseball (MLB) and has denied the allegations from the off.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office now say he will not face criminal chargers, according to CNN.

“After a thorough review of all the available evidence including the civil restraining order proceedings, witness statements and the physical evidence, the People are unable to prove the relevant charges beyond a reasonable doubt,” wrote Deputy District Attorney Fernanda Barreto.

Bauer responded in a video statement on February 8, saying: “Both my representatives and I have expected this outcome from the beginning, and we are grateful that each of these neutral, third party arbiters have reviewed the relevant information and made clear and informed decisions on this matter.”

Although cleared of criminal charges, Bauer could still be disciplined by MLB who are continuing to investigate the claims.

“MLB’s investigation is ongoing, and we will comment further at the appropriate time,” league officials confirmed.

LA Dodgers have also said that they would not comment until the MLB have concluded their investigation.
