Kanye West is set to replace the late Virgil Abloh as creative director at Louis Vuitton.
Kanye has had huge influence on not just the music industry, but the fashion world too.
The rapper is reportedly taking over the position at the luxury brand following the recent death of Virgil, who was privately battling a rare form of cancer for 2 years.
According to The Sun, West and Abloh “masterminded the move, which would install the singer at the heart of the fashion industry.”
The pair were good friends and had worked closely together over the years after first meeting at Fendi in 2009.
A source has told the publication that “Kanye is devastated about Virgil’s death because they had been friends for years and worked together a lot.”
“They shared a similar vision and now Kanye feels he owes it to Virgil to continue his work at Louis Vuitton.”
