Ricky Gervais Says He Wants To “Try And Get Cancelled”

Ricky Gervais reveals his intention is to “try and get cancelled” with his next stand-up show.

During an interview with Heat (via Express), the British comedian said he was going to go “all-out” with his next special – entitled Armageddon.

“I’m treating it like it’s my last one ever,” he said. “It won’t be, but I want to put everything into it. I want to try and get cancelled. No, I just want to go all-out there.”

He continued, “It’s about the end of the world and how we’re going to destroy ourselves for lots of reasons, whether it’s media stupidity or the actual end of the world.”

Gervais is no stranger to criticism when it comes to his comedy material.

In 2018, he received backlash for his jokes at the expense of Caitlyn Jenner during his appearance on the Golden Globes and his Netflix special, Humanity.
