Sherri Shepherd Misses ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ After Emergency Surgery

Sherri Shepherd has missed her scheduled appearance as guest host on The Wendy Williams Show after undergoing emergency surgery.

According to Deadline, the 54-year-old actress and television personality required urgent treatment for appendicitis. Her position was filled by Michael Rapaport on Monday (December 13).

“Due to appendicitis, Sherri Shepherd underwent an emergency surgery yesterday,” stated Shepherd’s publicist. “The procedure was successful, and Ms. Shepherd is doing fine and resting.”

“She is absolutely devastated that she will not be able to guest host The Wendy Williams Show today, but she is following doctors’ orders and expected to make a full recovery. Thank you all for understanding and respecting her privacy.”

Taking to Twitter to update fans, Shepherd confirmed she had undergone surgery and added that she planned to appear on the show “with the tea” on Tuesday.

Thank you for your love & well wishes. I had an emergency appendectomy last nite. I am feeling much better today & plan on being on The @WendyWilliams Show tomorrow with the tea!

Thanks @BellevueHosp for your kindness & @michaelrapaport for filling in! #SherriShepherd pic.twitter.com/xETOrrexNd
