Ryan Sorensen, a medical student from Kansas City University, is among the 30,000 runners selected to participate in the Boston Marathon on Monday.”It’s definitely one of the happiest moments I’ve had in my running career in a while,” Sorensen said.Sorensen, who has been running long-distance races for 11 years, acknowledges the significance of the Boston Marathon despite his extensive experience.”I’m definitely excited for the race atmosphere. I definitely want to run fast there,” he said.In addition to personal achievement, Sorensen aims to use his participation in the marathon as a platform to promote a healthy lifestyle. He believes in the significant contribution of regular running to overall health and well-being.”I’m convinced that distance running is not only the best way to stay physically active but also to really balance your life whether it’s work or school,” he said.This marathon will be Sorensen’s third, and he plans to run several more in his lifetime.
