In a vote that ended April 12, Cincinnati.com readers selected the Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Athletes of the Week from high school sports action through April 7.
The Enquirer has mailed certificates for winter winners through April 5 to athletic departments. The next round will go out in late May and early June.
The Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Athlete of the Week voting occurs during all high school seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports. Here are this week’s winners.

Ohio baseball team: Colerain – After an 0-4 start to the season, Colerain won three straight after beating Princeton 5-2 and Sycamore twice, 5-1 and 5-2.
Ohio softball team: Oak Hills – The Highlanders are 6-2 after beating Colerain 5-3, Middletown 15-3 and Badin 18-2 over the week.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana baseball team: Lloyd Memorial – Lloyd snapped a three-game skid by beating Calvary Christian 17-2 and Newport 22-0.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana softball team: Lloyd Memorial – Lloyd’s April 1, 9-5 victory at Bellevue snapped a three-game losing streak.
Boys spring team: Badin volleyball – Badin improved to 6-5 after sweeping Oak Hills, Carroll and Loveland.
Girls spring team: Mason 4×100 relay team – The 4×100 relay team ran the fastest time in Ohio in its season debut at the Coaches Classic Friday, April 5, at CHCA. The girls took first with a time of 47.47 and contributed to an overall Mason girls team win. The runners from first leg to anchor are sophomore Nora Moore, senior Emilia Capiello, junior Eden Orr and senior Abby Love.
Ohio big-school baseball: Carter Sansone, Colerain – The senior pitched complete games in Greater Miami Conference wins over Princeton and Sycamore, allowing seven total hits, two runs while striking out 22.
Ohio small-school baseball: R.J. Hudson, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place – The senior had a home run and two RBI in a win over Taft, and two hits, one RBI and three runs scored in a win over North College Hill.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana baseball: Ethan Swett, Lloyd Memorial – He went 3-for-5 with two home runs (one grand slam), one double, four runs scored and eight RBIs in two Juggernauts wins last week.
Ohio boys lacrosse: Mathew Swisher, Fenwick – The senior broke the team’s all-time scoring record with his 151st career goal last week.
Ohio girls lacrosse: Addy Dailey, Lakota East – She had seven goals and nine draw controls in a win over Oak Hills.
Ohio big-school softball: Ashleigh Meece, Little Miami – In four games last week, the junior went 8-for-13 with six RBIs, four doubles, two runs scored and a home run.
Ohio small-school softball: Emily O’Brien, Badin – She went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two doubles in a win over McNicholas.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana softball: Brooke Moore, Beechwood – She went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base in a win over Danville.
Ohio boys track & field: Trent Cottrell, Princeton – He won the 400-meter dash at the Vikings’ home meet with a new personal best of 51.36 seconds.
Ohio girls track & field: Hannah Glassmeyer, Lebanon – She won the 3,200 meters at the Herb Hartman Invitational with a new personal best of 11:41.78.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys track & field: Tate Glass, Campbell County – He won the 100-meter dash, 400-meter dash and long jump at the Camels’ home meet.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls track & field: Mariah Burton, Campbell County – She won the 200-meter dash, took second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 400-meter dash at the Camels’ home meet.
Boys volleyball: Harrison Wood, La Salle – Wood had 10 kills in a sweep of Centerville with six digs and three blocks.
