Girl Scouts travel for spring break | News

Gatlinburg Girl Scout Troop 20648 took a trip for spring break. The girls stayed at a camp in Hockessin Delaware (Camp Country Center) and rode the Amtrak to Washington D.C. and to New York City. They then packed up and drove to Ohio to Camp Stoneybrook to watch the eclipse in the totality zone. In all the Gatlinburg troop drove about 1,600 miles, traveled through Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington D.C., New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Kentucky. The Girl Scouts were on the train during the New York/New Jersey earthquake. The girls had a tour of the White House, the Capitol Building, Library of Congress, and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
