‘American Idol’ Contestant Caleb Kennedy Charged Over Fatal DUI

Former American Idol contestant Caleb Kennedy has been arrested after a fatal car accident.

The 17-year-old aspiring singer participated in the 2021 season of American Idol.

Though he rose to the top top, Kennedy was ultimately terminated from the show after a video surfaced of him seated beside a person wearing what appeared to be a Ku Klux Klan hood.

According to People, Kennedy was driving a 2011 Ford pickup truck whilst under the influence on Tuesday.

At approximately 12:42pm, Kennedy’s vehicle reportedly collided with a building in Spartanburg, North Carolina, killing one individual.

The man inside, identified as 54-year-old Larry Duane Parris, was taken to hospital but pronounced dead three hours later.

Images from the devastating scene shared by TMZ show the vehicle wedged inside a compact garage space and pressed against the furthest wall.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
