Britney Spears has claimed that she was forced into giving Diana Sawyer an interview in 2003, despite being vulnerable at the time.
In a now deleted Instagram post, Spears called out Sawyer for making her cry in an infamous 2003 interview, which took place shortly after she had split from her then boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
“Do we dare forget the Diane Sawyer interview in my apartment almost 20 years ago??? What was with the ‘you’re in the wrong’ approach ?? Geeze … and making me cry ???”, the pop star said.
“My manager put that woman in my home and made me talk to her on national television and she asked me if I had a shopping problem, When did I have a problem with shopping? When I never left my apartment?”, she added
Spears also criticised members of her family in the post, including her father Jamie, who she says should never have been allowed to control her finances.
“I’m embarrassed for the State of California for permitting my father to have me work as hard as he worked me all those years and never seeing a dime,” she said.
Last month, the 39-year-old singer was freed from the controversial conservatorship she had been under for the past fourteen years.
