Cobie Smulders will return to the MCU as Maria Hill in Marvel’s upcoming Secret Invasion.
According to Deadline, the new Disney+ series will serve as a follow-up to Captain Marvel.
The 39-year-old actress previously featured in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Far From Home. This latest project reunites her with Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Nick Fury, to whom she acted as second in command of SHIELD.
Also set to feature in Secret Invasion are Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, and Emilia Clarke. Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim are attached as directors.
Production on Secret Invasion is already underway, with hopes to release in 2022.
