FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Could Be Renamed Following Spotify Deal

A sponsorship deal with Spotify could see Barcelona’s Camp Nou, one of the most historic grounds in football history, renamed.

Engrained in FC Barcelona’s history, Camp Nou will forever be associated with the Catalan giants.

The Spanish club had long withstood having sponsors on their shirt, until 2010 when they welcomed charity Unicef.

In 2018, they signed a deal with Rakuten that is set to run its course come the end of the season.

Now Barça is reportedly set to sign a mammoth deal with music streaming platform service Spotify.

With the club struggling financially, not helped by their inability to sign Lionel Messi to a new contract last summer, this deal could be huge in them getting back on their feet.

According to RAC1, as reported by Spanish outlet Marca, the deal will see Barça receive 280 million euros across three seasons.

But such a fee will see the club give up the naming rights of Europe’s largest football stadium to Spotify.

The two are set to combine and the new name will reportedly be Spotify Camp Nou.

This might be the financial catalyst Barça need to allow them to reach their glory days once more.
