Jussie Smollett Takes The Stand During Hoax Attack Trial

Jussie Smollett took the stand to testify against charges that he staged an attack upon his person in Chicago.

The alleged attack occurred one evening in January 2019, when Smollett claims that two masked men assaulted him and shouted racist and homophobic slurs. The two men later claimed that Smollett had paid them to attack him.

He is facing six counts of felony disorderly conduct for allegedly filing false police reports.

Taking to the stand on Monday (November 6), Smollett said that he and one of his alleged attackers – Abimbola Osundairo – had previously had a sexual relationship. He also claimed that the second attacker – Osundairo’s brother, Olabingo Osundairo – “freaked” him out.

According to Bloomberg, security guard Anthony Moore also took to stand on Monday. Moore claimed that on the night of the alleged attack, he witnessed two men fleeing from another man on the ground, later adding that he believed they were being playful. He also said that one of the fleeing individuals was white, while both of the Osundairo brothers are black.
