Kehlani has confirmed they now wish to go by she/they pronouns as those pronouns feel more affirming for the singer.
The 26-year-old singer has offered an interview for Byrdie Magazine where they stated:
“I don’t mind when people say ‘she’ at all, but something feels really affirming when people say ‘they.’ It feels like… you really see me.”
Earlier this year Kehlani also opened up about her sexuality when she stated on her Instagram live: “I finally know I’m a lesbian.”
