Kristen Bell has revealed that her children with Dax Shepard sleep in the couple’s bedroom.
The pair, who have been together since 2007, share two daughters together, 8-year-old Lincoln and 6-year-old Delta.
Speaking on an episode of Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, the 41-year-old Good Place actress made the revelation about her family’s sleeping habits whilst discussing a mysterious smell in their bedroom.
“You know the girls sleep on the floor of our bedroom,” said Bell. “And a few nights ago, I smell a really raunchy smell and I’m like, ‘Who’s farting?’ All three of them are like, ‘Sorry, it’s me.’”
Waking the next morning, Bell found that the scent still lingered, adding that it smelt as though something was burning.
She proceeded to thoroughly clean the room, open every window and light candles but was bemused to find that the smell remained. Enlisting the help of her daughters to look for the source, Bell says she eventually discovered where the smell was coming from.
“I lean down and smell the mattress – Dax’s corner, his feet former of the mattress – and I almost hit the deck.” She said, “I almost passed out it was so strong.”
Revealing that Shepard had accidentally filled their mattress cover with an old protein drink instead of water, Bell said it took a power washer to expel the smell.
“Don’t put a protein shake in your OOLER,” she advised listeners.
