Joe Rogan Brands Latest Controversy A “Political Hit Job”

Joe Rogan calls the recently resurfaced video compilation of him using the N-word a “political hit job”.

Speaking in the latest episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the 54-year-old said that the most recent controversy was “a relief in a lot of ways” as it made him “address some stuff that I really wish wasn’t out there.”

“It’s like this is a political hit job,” he said. “And so they’re taking all this stuff that I ever said, and it’s wrong, and smush it all together.”

The clips in which Rogan repeatedly uses racial slurs went viral in recent days after musician India Arie posted them on social media.

Arie joined calls to boycott Spotify over its hosting of Rogan’s podcast and joined Neil Young in removing her music from the platform.

“You should apologise if you regret something,” admitted Rogan. He went on to cite Awkwafina’s recent defence of her ‘blaccent’ and added, “I do think you have to be careful not to apologise for nonsense.”

His comments came after former president Donald Trump said in a statement that Rogan should “stop apologising to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs”.
