Lil Uzi Vert Sentenced After No Contest Plea

Rapper Lil Uzi Vert has accepted a plea deal in exchange for 3 years of probation.

According to TMZ, the 26-year-old pleaded no contest to one count of felony assault with a firearm and one count of misdemeanour injury to a girlfriend.

Though he will now avoid prison time in exchange for 3 years of probation, Uzi must now undergo one year of treatment for mental health and substance abuse, as well as 52 weeks of domestic violence counselling, restitution and a 10-year criminal protective order.

The case related to an incident back in July, when Uzi allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd and fellow rapper SAINt JHN.

The pair were reportedly talking at a cafe in West Hollywood when Uzi drove up to aggressively confront them. After attempting to punch JHN and accidentally dropping his firearm, Uzi allegedly struck Byrd and pressed the weapon into her stomach.

Uzi was originally charged with 3 felony counts of assault with a firearm, criminal threats, and domestic violence. He was also charged with a misdemeanour for carrying a loaded firearm.
